Yashvantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nasik is one of the prominent universities in Maharashtra and India. It was established on 1st July, 1988. Many people in the society cannot get higher education even if they want to due to various difficulties like financial, family, professional. Also, it is not possible for many to get a full-time education. This university gives priority to the preferences and choices of the people. Courses offered that provide the necessary skills for employment and development and those are implemented on the basis of modern technology. The University is headquartered in Nasik and has various study centers in many places across Maharashtra and India. They offer different courses right from certificate, diploma and degree courses to Ph.D. YCMOU makes higher education accessible throughout rural and urban areas.
Swaraj College of Commerce and Computer Studies, Study Center, YCMOU is established in 2018. Principal Alok Pawar has initiated to give an option of distance education for those students who want to pursue their graduation but unable to attend the college regularly. Asst. Prof. Swapnali Korhale - Pawar is the coordinator of study center. We conduct different courses e.g. preparatory program, graduation and post graduation as mentioned below. However, the courses of YCMOU are being implemented for the convenience of persons who are unable to pursue full-time education and get higher education at reasonable rates. Our college is dedicated to take education to people.
Preparatory Program - Individuals who have not cleared H.S.C. (12th) or their education is less than H.S.C. (12th) but wish to obtain a degree; they can directly enter any degree course of YCMOU by completing the 'Preparatory Program’ course.

कालावधी :
नोंदणी कालावधी प्रवेश घेतल्यापासून कमाल दोन वर्षाचा आहे. या दोन वर्षांत पूर्वतयारी यशस्वीरित्या पूर्ण न केल्यास पुन्हा नव्याने प्रवेश घ्यावा लागतो. नोंदणी कालावधीत विद्यार्थ्यांना जास्तीत जास्त ४ परीक्षा (1 नियमित + ३ पुनर्परीक्षा) देता येतात

B.Com. Programme Structure
This programme has a duration of three years and has weightage of 108 credit points. In this programme the student has to study 6 Courses of 36 credit points for the first year, 5 compulsory courses and one elective course having weightage 36 credit points for the second year, and 4 compulsory and 2 specialization group courses having weightage 36 credit points for third year. Nine contact sessions for every course of 6 credit points are arranged at the study centre where the students can solve their difficulties
Duration
The minimum duration of this programme is three years, although you may complete the programme gradually within a maximum period of eight years. If the programme is not completed successfully during these eight years, you will be required to take fresh admission.

The medium of instruction for the B.Com. programme is English OR Marathi
Eligibility Criteria
The admission to this programme is based on fulfilling any one of the following criteria -
- Preparatory programme of YCMOU with minimum 40% marks. Certificate Programme for Self Help Group facilitators of YCMOU with minimum 40% marks.
- H.S.C. or equivalent examination of Maharashtra or other state HSC Board.
- 11th standard passed (Before 1975).
- Government recognised certificate / diploma of minimum two years after SSC

About Programme
Aims
The Aims of the M.B.A. programme are –
- To help practising managers to become more effective decision makers in their fields by updating their knowledge and managerial skills.
- To enable the budding managers to develop their skills of critical analysis, logical thinking and creative imagination
- To enable the managers to make independent judgements in the analysis and resolution of complex managerial problems.
Duration
- The minimum duration = 2 Years
- Maximum duration = 5 Years
- A minimum attendance of 50 % is compulsory for the counseling sessions.

The medium of instruction and examination is English only.

The programme consists of 20 courses and project work spread over 4 semesters in two academic years.
Evaluation Procedure
The pattern of evaluation used for the M.B.A. programme will consist of the following three components. For each theory course of 100 marks, there will be 80 marks for University Assessment (End Examination [EE]) and 20 marks reserved for Continuous Assessment (Home Assignments [CA]) Student will have to obtain minimum 40 marks to pass in each course.

Admission to the M.B.A. programme is open to all citizens of India who satisfy the following condition
- Passed minimum three year duration Bachelor's Degree awarded by any of the universities recognized by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45%in case of candidates of back ward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalents.
- Qualify the Entrance Exam conducted by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University.

Admission to the M.com programme is open to all citizens of India who satisfy the following conditions
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com) OR Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) OR Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) OR Bachelor of Business Management (BBM).
- In case a candidate has completed a course from a statutory board or University, which has, content similar to that offered in the courses in the programme, he/she might appeal to the Director of School of Commerce for getting exemption to a course through a written application supported by necessary documents (syllabi of the courses completed by him/ her). The decision of the Director of the School will be final and binding on the student in this respect

The M.Com. (Semester Pattern with credit system) degree shall be of 2 years duration divided into two parts, Part I and Part II and total 4 semesters. (At each part there will be 8 courses of 32 credits (400 Marks). The M.Com. Degree examination Part I & II in aggregate shall be of 64 credits (1600 Marks).

The degree shall be titled as Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) under the Faculty of Commerce and Management. The choice based credit system offers a cafeteria approach where the students have the liberty to choose courses of their own choice.
The credit system allows students to opt for additional courses where he /she can score more than the required credits. The system will focus on student centric learning methods, which include use of Information and Communication Technology, innovative methods of teaching and learning and emphasis on industry interaction to enable the learners to take up professional challenges more effectively
